Troja chateau was built in the end of 17th century as a summer palace for Count Sternberg copying architecture of Italian and French countryside villas decorated with a symmetric garden, a fountain, sand-stone sculptures, terracotta vases, orchards and neighboring vineyards. Inside you may admire splendid vaulted ceilings, a wonderfully detailed mural in its Grand Hall, Chinese rooms and paintings of Czech masters of 19th century. In the cellar there is a nice wine shop with a good selection of Moravian and Czech wines. A short walk away is the Troja Botanical Gardens, so it certainly makes sense to combine these two places and visit them together.
Public transportation and walking on flat surfaces and uphill.
