Karlovy Vary (Karlsbad) is the most famous of all the Bohemian spas. It was named after Charles (Karel) IV who allegedly found the springs in 1358 when chasing a deer on hunt. The town later became to be a place where royalty came here from all over Europe for treatment. The cure today is a complex treatment consisting mainly in drinking the water directly from the spring but the cure further includes carbon dioxide baths, water therapy, massages, mud-baths, packs, electrotherapy etc. Now there are treated gastric disorders, gall-bladder, liver-, stomach-, metabolic disturbances. A town where an international film festival is held every July and where Bechrovka liquer, Moser glass, Thun porcelain and Mattoni mineral water originated.

Admisson: Moser glass factory – Monday till Friday until 1 p.m., 45 minutes, 90 CZK per person, individuals in a group up to 4 people 300 CZK for a group;
Becherovka museum 100 CZK adults, 50 CZK students; open all week until 5 p.m.
